Hmm ... impressive list. Haven't seen almost half of these. ome thoughts on your list:
a) However, your list seems to follow a pattern. Movies from the same director appear very close on the list - it makes it look like more of "who are my fav directors' list" than a "fav movies" (though i can understand the reason behind it).
b) I hope that either of the Chinatowns (No. 37 and 57) is not the "Chamma Chamma" one :P
c) you sometimes club a series together at the same spot and sometimes name individual movies - case in point Matrix Trilogy (the 3rd was a big bust man!!) and The Good, The bad ... (come on ... if there were ever three awesome movies, the three in the series should be those)
d) Notable exclusions (that come to my mind) - One flew over.., Alfred Hitchcock (!!), Drunken Master 2 (umm ... almost the greatest kung fu movie ever), Jim Carry (Don't even get me started here - eternal sunshine, Man on the moon, Liar Liar ..), kevin Spacey (Usual suspects, se7en, LA Confi, Life of David gale ..), Bourne Series (mannnnnn !!) and certainly not the least - Guy Richie.
(Mind you, initial thoughts. As you know - never liked Pulp fiction. but a good list guru, good one.)
Anshumaan
Need to edit this one... it is going to undergo a major change... planning to include films like Pink Flamingos etc.
a) It follows a pattern nevertheless, I try an remember the movies of the director, and include it accordingly.
b) oops :P galti ho gayi.
c) Matric trilogy as a trilogy works, and is great beyond question. As goes for the Dollar trilogy... the first one is a total rip of Yojimbo. No considerations henceforth. The second one is great, but doesn't make it to the list because of better movies. Overall the Dollar trilogy still isn't something that could make its way into the list.
d)Guess, I just missed "one flew over...". Admire Hitchcock, but then there are better. Same with the others.
Well, the brand new list shall chuck most of the obvious ones out. I'll re-refine it I mean!
Moreover the attempt is to include some new movies into the list, else it gets stale over a period of time.
It looks like we have so much in common!!
So many great movies!
Hmmm... let's see, in no particular order:
-JFK
-Amadeus
-Stranger than paradise
-Forest Gump
whatelse...whatelse...
-actually I saw a fantastic war film recently (I thought after the battle scenes in private Ryan that was it) called 'battle for Haditha'
-Kiki's delivery service
-Alien
-Psycho
-Ghost in a shell
-Annie Hall
...and a bunch more I guess!
